CW Fiber Amplifier Comparison

High-Power CW Fiber Amplifiers

YAR and YAM Ytterbium CW narrow line high-power fiber amplifiers cover the spectral range from 1030 to 1070 nm and offer output power up to 4 kW. These amplifiers deliver high end parameters out of a convenient package with Ethernet and RS-232 interfaces.

Options include custom wavelength selection, different output power levels, type of polarization, and packaging (OEM module or end user ready rack unit). Linearly polarized output is available up to 2 kW. YAR and YAM CW amplifiers are frequently used for spectral beam combining, sensing/detection systems, and power beaming applications.

Single-Frequency CW Fiber Amplifiers

YAR-LP-SF and EAR-LP-SF are linearly polarized (LP) single frequency (SF) single-mode fiber amplifiers covering the spectral range from 1030 to 1070 nm (ytterbium) and 1535 to 1605 nm (erbium). LP-SF Series amplifiers are used for applications including coherent beam combining and detection.

LP-SF amplifiers are wavelength stabilized. Typical bandwidth ranges from 10 to 20 nm allowing tuning of the input signal for exact wavelength matching. A standard amplifier has a 25 dB input optical isolation and < -60 dB residual pump power at the input and output ports with a typical extinction ratio of ~20 to 23 dB.
