Recruitement Fraud Notice

Our Commitment to Privacy

IPG Photonics Corporation has become aware of scammers impersonating IPG’s recruitment team through the posting of fraudulent job openings and by contacting job seekers with fictitious job offers. These scammers have even been using IPG’s name and logo to conduct fraudulent interviews to obtain personal and financial information from job seekers.  IPG will not request any personal information before a candidate has first applied on our career site. Only applicants that have completed IPG’s official application on our career site can be hired.

What is Recruitment Fraud?

Recruitment fraud is a sophisticated scam offering fake job opportunities to job seekers through online advertisements, online job search platforms and bogus web sites, and direct email or text solicitations.  These scammers use IPG’s name and logo to request job seekers to provide personal information and to make payments as part of this fake recruitment process.

IPG does not collect any financial information or money from candidates as a pre-employment requirement.  IPG does not and will not contact or interview job candidates via chat rooms, charge candidates any fees for any purposes in connection with their application or extend any offer of employment without conducting a thorough recruitment process including on-site interviews.

Identifying Recruitment Fraud

  • Fraudulent job offers often ask for financial or personal information early in the process. IPG will never request financial information or money for the opportunity to apply or work for us.
  • Fraudulent interviews are often conducted solely via email or online sites, often asking for immediate responses or written with poor punctuation or grammar. Some fraudulent interviews will utilize the free version of Skype or Telegram Messenger messaging service. All IPG interviews are conducted in-person or through a secure video call arranged by our in-house recruiting team.
  • Fraudulent job offers will often originate from spoofed email domains or from emails addresses using personal email systems (e.g. @ehnbac.org; @gmail.com; @outlook.com; et al). All legitimate IPG recruiting communication will originate from one of our owned and operated domains.

Please Do Not:

  • Respond to unsolicited business propositions and/or offers of employment from people with whom you are unfamiliar.
  • Click on any links in unsolicited emails or texts about potential job opportunities.
  • Disclose your personal or financial details to anyone you do not know.
  • Send any money.
  • Engage in further communication if you believe the communication may be fraudulent.
