Two Spot Sizes. One Laser.

Laser sintering, additive manufacturing, and welding applications often require multiple spot sizes to process different features in sequence. Traditional solutions for adjusting beam spot size in-process require external moving bulk optics like zoom collimators that are slow, expensive, and are prone to optics contamination. Rapid switching between two spot sizes at approximately constant fluence results in dramatically faster additive manufacturing with a more compact and cost-effective laser tool.

Adjustable Mode Technology

Adjustable Mode Technology

Faster: Adjustable mode technology offers the fastest on-the-fly switching between different spot sizes (<50 µm) to enable up to 5X faster printing speeds.

More Reliable: Dual-mode fiber lasers do not rely on mechanical or precision optical components and are not sensitive to alignment, vibration, or contamination.

Fully Flexible: Users have full control over the power and fluence of each spot, allowing both the single-mode and multi-mode flat top outputs to be tuned independently.

Easier Copper Printing & Welding

Easier Copper Printing & Welding

The high reflectivity of copper often drives manufacturers to consider more complex specialty green lasers even when they are not necessary.

High power density or fluence allows infrared lasers to easily overcome copper's reflectivity for formation of fine features and increased deposition rates as well as rapid weld penetration. Whether for printing or welding, dual-mode fiber lasers offer the performance required to simplify copper processing.
